"I'm not sure I can handle any more of your 'surprises'."

Surprises are goooood.
I especially like the color on this page...your colors always seem so soft. I likes!

Thank you. I'm not really confident with colouring, and I don't have Photoshop, so I tend to want to soften everything as a way to keep myself in check.

Your coloring is great and your eye for color shows here too. I like the was you have been coloring. I hope to use a similar technique when I do my next comic. Great stuff here.

I love the colors! Also, Gimp is kind of like a free version of photoshop.

Cold, barren and beautiful!

Always look forward to reading this comic!

Thanks IllustratorMan! Trying to capture winter on the Canadian prairies. Also the sun in mid winter only comes up for a few hours in the northern parts of Alberta.

Exactly why I like Canada's weather so much...I have a bias for dreary winters.

Just how I'm wired I guess. ;)

There's something to be said about being all cozy by my fireplace, my dog curled up at my feet, hot cider in my hand, and blizzard doing its thing outside.

Great page. That first panel with the purple sky and the one looking down on the school bus are my favs ;D
Skweeee edit delete reply
Thanks Stever. Those were the panels I was most pleased with.

Love everything about this page. The colors are really capture the feeling of being cold without it looking dreary. good stuff! :)

Thanks!! The winters up here can get deadly cold. Even so, I would never leave. I'm glad I can get the feel and the beauty of it across.

I thought at first it might be Poland, but the yellow bus made me think again. I see you mention Canada though here so that clears that up at least :)

Yes!! Get out your atlas; Alberta Canada to be a bit more precise.

Rd Ashes
Love the pacing, love the colours, love the Canadian vibe.
Is this all digital, or are you penciling and scanning it?
Skweeee edit delete reply
Hi RD Ashes!

I pencil and ink on paper, and then colour the scanned image on my computer!!

I suck at colouring. Doing it electronically is very forgiving, since I make many mistakes when I'm trying to colour.
