In the first panel you can see my attempt to pay homage to Fig's dynamic sound effect style with the kids squealing in terror. I'm sorry Fig that's the best that I can do. At first I thought it was going to easy... ha! Little did I know; Fig makes it look easy. Be that as it may that was hard for me to do.

Check out Fig's comic here;

In other news; the Canadian National War Museum in Ottawa contacted me and asked if I wanted to donate the first ten pages of my "Contact Wait Out" Comic to the Afghanistan War Art exhibit. Saying that I am thrilled and honored, is an understatement.

Leave a comment or PM. I'm lonely and like to chit chat!! :D

Gratz, man. You SO deserve that! :)

I'm really loving the little green one here. Awesome idea!

Thanks Prof! That's very kind of you to say.

I am glad you like her.

It isn't often that the mysterious monster offers to explain. Please proceed. :)
Skweeee edit delete reply
yeah, she needs to do some explaining.

This comic needs some exposition in such a bad way! This little Sprite-lady will now conduct some much over due exposition.
chris-tar edit delete reply
That took some craftsmanship and dedication to pull of that sound effect illustration!
You got a link to that war comic so I can check it out?
Skweeee edit delete reply
Thank you Chris!!

If you just click on my Avatar, you'll find I have a total of three comics on Comic Fury!!!

"EEEEEEEEEE!!!!" Sounds like a siren.. I *can* understand why granny is worried.

And congratulations, that's really awesome! :D

Stever edit delete reply

That sound effect look amazing in the top panel. Fabulous work as always!
Skweeee edit delete reply
Thanks Stever!

That's probably the first and last time I do a sound effect like that. I'm very glad you like it.
Ovnuniarchos edit delete reply
Awesome! I'd be flipping super bouncy balls if it happened to me!
Skweeee edit delete reply
Oh yeah! I pretty much am telling here, what I would have done.
Seabiscuit edit delete reply
Haha! I LOVE that "eeeee"! How long did that take? That's seriously awesome.
(That poster in the back ;))

And...Wow!! Congrats on the museum thing! That's seriously awesome. But not all too surprising considering your amazing work!;D
Skweeee edit delete reply
Thank you Sea!!!!! That one part took about an hour or so.

And thanks so much for being a such a supportive friend on Comic Fury.
Delvarian edit delete reply
Way to go Skweeee. I hope it leads to even more things.
Skweeee edit delete reply
Hey!!!! Delvarian, my man! Thank you. I am running some fantasies in my head where I become famous.
Amalockh1 edit delete reply
An amazing and fun page.
Also congrats, Skweeee! Good to see your comics are getting more recognition. :)
Skweeee edit delete reply
Amalockh1, thanks! I'm glad you like it. Panel two is my favorite on this page.

Thanks, my friend.
Spelledeg edit delete reply
Congratulations on having your comic included in a museum! That's really awesome! :D I hope it leads to more opportunity for you!

And for the page: This is such a fun page! I love the energy going on! And oh my goodness the little one has a very long tail.(And posable horn-appendages? O: ) I think you did pretty well with the dialogue/sound effect screech going through the page!

Piper's expression in the second to last panel is golden!
Skweeee edit delete reply
Spelledeg, thank you, thank you!!!!!

I'm happy that you find this a fun page. I gave this little one a tail and moveable horns because I would like to play around with some more cartoony expressions and stuff.

Thanks for noticing Piper's expression. Having my characters 'act' is one of my areas in drawing that needs some significant work. So, that panel actually stole much of my time. I'm going to be focusing a bit more on that aspect for the next while. I look forward to your feedback/assessment.

and in case you missed it on Hockey Night In Canada....Canucks 5 Penguins 0!!!!
How sweet it is!!!!
Skweeee edit delete reply
Fuck yeah!!! The totally goaled that score in the nets!!!

(I don't watch sports; I mean like I didn't even know about the super bowl until after when people were reviewing the commercials and half-time show....) to paraphrase Robert Downey Jr. I went full nerd.
jolle edit delete reply
I wonder how would I react if I saw a creature like that? Probably think it's just a dream and expect to wake up, because all my dreams end when I realize they are dreams.
Skweeee edit delete reply
My most lucid dreams are in the late morning. When they're like that, I'm also aware that I'm dreaming. If I'm aware enough, I'll start using my Dr. Manhattan-like powers.
QuietClayton edit delete reply
QuietClayton an awesome scream.
Like..epic awesome.
Congrats on the museum news too. That just is more awesomes!!
Skweeee edit delete reply
Thanks Clayton!! I'm glad that you like it. In the end I was a little frustrated, because I was unable to capture the exact thing I was trying to do.

Thanks. I'm so thrilled about that.
demcleod edit delete reply
Haha, I love Piper's face in that bottom panel. XD

Congrats on the museum, my friend. Contact Wait Out is a good read and fantastic art to boot. :-D
Skweeee edit delete reply
Thanks man!

I actually spent a significant amount of time on that panel.
MistakeNPotatoes edit delete reply
I do quite like the rotatey text, that's really well done!
Skweeee edit delete reply
Thank you very much MistakeNpotatoes! BTW, I've been inspired by your comic to draw my faces better. Especially with your last couple of pages, it's made me realize all the expressions I should be shooting for.
MistakeNPotatoes edit delete reply
Wat, no, you have so many people you should be referencing over me. My expressions are awful! Go look at like, the Airship Legacy or something, hahaha!
Proxy170 edit delete reply
A lot of great expressions again on this page! It's cool how you had the sound effect wavering through the panel too, to add that additional feel to it. Did you do that all by hand? It's really precise.
Skweeee edit delete reply
Hi Proxy! Thank you. I did indeed do that sound effect all by hand. I'm glad that you like it. Thanks for remarking that it's precise. So, don't look too closely at it. You'd end up noticing all the tell-tale signs that I was just shooting from the hip.

Leave it to kids to immediately trust "I'm very friendly?!" I mean, he's not even sure if he's friendly yet. Yup, Gramma, everything is AOK.
Skweeee edit delete reply
It's just how these things play out I guess.

Skweeee edit delete reply
Ah Fig! Thanks man.
IllustratorMan edit delete reply
I'm blown away with your hand drawn sound effect and how it actually bends with the shriek.

SKWEEEE...Bravo, man.
