I might skip posting a page next weekend because our local comics store (Happy Harbor Comics) hosts the 24 hr comic day on the 11th. I suspect that I may be all comiced out by the morning of the 12th.

If I can manage it though, I think that I should post.

I have no reasonable excuse for this page being late other than poor planning and a lack of motivation. I am sorting myself out.

Very nice. I love her position in that first panel.

So you're going to try the 24 comics day huh?
I've always wanted to try it myself, but I'm not sure I could stay up for it.
Skweeee edit delete reply
Skweeee
Thanks Stever!!

You probably could do the 24hrs. There's just that tough bit between 2 and 5 am time frame to get through.

Aw yeah, girl time. Their friendship is just too damn adorable. There ya go Robin, asking the right questions!;)

Ohh, you should totally post your 24 hour comic entry ;D

(I definitely know the feeling of losing motivation from time to time, or just not feel like drawing...It's very important to take some time just for yourself, to 'sort yourself out' as you put it as well.;D)

Thank you Seabiscuit.

Our hosting comic store actually keeps all our comics and then publishes them later. I still haven't got my last year's pages back, though I've just learned that they are just getting round to publishing last year's now. So I should get those pages soon. I'll post those ones as soon as I get them.

Last year I did a spoof on Clifford the Big Red Dog, called Clobber the Very Big Dog.

Aw man, I really enjoy pages that feature these two. Their dynamic is really well done.
I continue to look forward to your updates, my friend!

You're ALL excuses, Skweeee! Us fans don't deserve that. Ever! X-D lol j/k

In all seriousness, Robin and Piper's friendship is really cool. :-D

Ha ha, thanks Dwayne. I rather enjoy developing the relationships of my characters more than I thought.

I agree with D, that first panel is perfecto, Skweeee!!

Have a great time at your 24 hour comic event! :D

Skweeee
Thank you Kara. I'll no doubt give a little synopsis on how it went when I post my next page.

I'm glad to read that. I was not very confident about this page. So, reading these comments is very re-motivating.

Such a simple scene, yet so much love goes into every detail.
Skweeee edit delete reply
Skweeee
Thank you for saying that Matt. sometimes much of the details I incorporate into a panel are aften more for my own enjoyment. I wonder sometimes if readers can actually figure out what I was intending when they look or notice my smaller details.

Love how you capture her size so well. Kid proportions are hard to me!
Skweeee edit delete reply
Skweeee
I always sketch my family here and there around the house. When my boys were younger I got to figure out the proportions of a child; larger head and forhead, larger scale eyes to the nose and mouth, shorter limbs and torso. Their bodies and features are less distinguishable between the genders as well as I will, for girls, only add longer eyelashes and longer hair (both more iconic features than actual real features). also adding freckles seems to contribute to the effect as well.

Your artwork is amazing, I'm completely jealous of it.

Whoa thanks man! that is a very generous compliment. The kind of statement that kinda compels me to work extra hard to try and earn such praise.

How... old is Robin? First I thought she was around the same age as Piper, then I thought she a teenager, but now she's driving a car?

(Good page by the way)
Skweeee edit delete reply
Skweeee
Robin is 16 and Piper is 11.

In Alberta Canada, you may get your learners permit at 14, and be licensed to drive alone at 16.

I just love your aerial snow backgrounds so much!

Good luck with the 24 hour thing...of course I've never tried it so let me know how it goes. ;)
Skweeee edit delete reply
Skweeee
IllustratorMan, Thanks so much. What's funny is that we are weeks away from snowfall here in St Albert, Alberta, and weeks away from me posting pages taking place in the spring and fall seasons.

I'll be sure to pass an any significant info ref the 24 hrs thing. Maybe even some tips I've learned.

Fig edit delete reply

everyone has said it already, but still: that first panel. you added the PERFECT amount of dynamism to make such a mundane thing as watching dishes fun to look at, and that sir takes genuine talent, which you have proven you have time and time again. i tip my hat to you, sir.
Skweeee edit delete reply
Skweeee
Hey, thanks Fig!

Yeah, what I try to do is remember that this is a visual medium, and that if a moment in the story is mundane, it's my job to make that moment beautiful to look at anyways.
